Can something that is willfully precipitated be said to be by chance or accident?
When an inked surface and another surface make contact, which resulting image becomes the original and which the copy? What happens when their coupling reveals a greater whole?
Each image is, paradoxically, wholly dependent on the other not only for its appearance but also for its very existence. Each is a culmination of both the deliberate and the serendipitous. And each is an original and one-of-a-kind as only process-based art can be. Taken together, the images annex an unenvisioned union. Momentary and unique, it is an image of formation in progress.
